Three days a week the Itaosy canteen opens its doors. But our work does not stop at the walls of the canteen.
Itaosy Canteen
Inaugurated on 20 December 2020, the canteen welcomes anyone in need: children, orphans, young mothers, the elderly and people with disabilities, without distinction, three times a week.
The beneficiaries
About 187 meals a day: children, orphans, young mothers, the elderly, people with disabilities.
The Menu
Rice, meat, legumes and vegetables. Simple, warm, dignified.
The ritual
Hand hygiene, singing, common prayer. At the end, guests place the dishes in the basins.
Hope comes home
Not everyone can reach the canteen. This is why volunteers deliver meals to the homes of the elderly and the sick who are unable to move.
The garden — cultivated by the community — brings fresh vegetables directly to the tables of the canteen.
We buy products from local street vendors: each donation supports twice.
